I think Palat will stay on the top line with Stamkos and St Louis after the break.
I hope the next couple weeks is ample enough time for Bishop, Filppula and Stamkos to heal and be ready for the stretch run to the playoffs.
The crowd tonight was real good, the third period was playoff crowd material.
Vlad looked like he belonged and I really like what Brown brings, that line clearly had some of the best chances. I cannot wait when Kucherov learns how to finish his chances, he always has a good one a night.
Hedman again he has found his himself and only gets better. Salo hang tough but you scare me now. Carle plays consistent which is what I want. Gudas needs to get better he has regressed a little. Brewer is a great 3rd line pairing guy. Barberio has really stepped up his game, I don't feel nauseous when he is on the ice.
With all that said, in my opinion the Bolts needs a top 4 defensemen for the stretch run but who and what do they give up to get it.

Agreed on the Palat/top line thing. I've been saying for a while now that I think he's a fit with Marty and Stammer. He just brings an element of grit that could make that line so dominant. Having two guys (him and Marty) who can go into the corners, win battles, and get the puck to Stamkos.... |

Palat is a stud! I love watching the tenacity he has on both sides of the ice. He really can do it all, and I too think he will be with Stammer and Marty after the olympic break. The talent we have is unbelievable and other teams need to look out! If they think we are a threat now than they should just wait and see what a threat we will be in a few years. GO BOLTZ! |

Vladdy looked really good. That whole line did, as has been mentioned. Crowd really got into it 3rd period. A huge win alround going into the break. |

Michael Stuart: Ondrej the Giant Leads Lightning Past Wings - Michael_Stuart
I was in section 307 last night with that crazy group of people right next to us. Some of the chance they came up with were pretty funny like chap-ter 9 chap-ter 9 (referring to the city's mint troubles). However after that lame tripping call which Teddy touched the back of his legs and the Detroit player fell like a ton of bricks, the chance got all log meaner. A rope, a tree, and hang the referee!
There were a lot of Detroit fans in attendance but most of them were well behaved and nice people, no real shenanigans. |

I thought Gudas play a pretty solid game last night. He was taking the body, he was separating the Detroit players from the puck, he wasn't a superstar but he played a really solid game.

Starting to Palat myself. He's turned into the best free agent pick up in my keeper's pool this year. |

4- 4.5 I imagine but that's another year away - probably be extended over the summer. Cap next year will be less than the estimate probably around 68-68.5 so the following year near 71 |

And with all the restricted free agents we have to sign I hear another compliance buyout coming!
Paging Ryan Malone, Ryan Malone your time Tampa Bay is up. |

How Jimmy Howard beat Ben Bishop for the USA Olympic Team is perplexing and an absolute joke. The guy legitamely should be starting for the US. That coming from. Sabres fan .... Anyway ... USA. USA. USA. |

They're both good goalies but Jimmy Howard has an overall longer and more successful play record. Add to the fact that Bishop played that game in severe pain and could really use the Olympic break to heal I'm okay with him not going. It doesn't really matter anyways because unless Miller falters(which he won't), the US are going to leave heavily on him. |

Everybody thought that Sean Couturier inflated Palat's stats. It's pretty clear now; that wasn't the case. - Michael_Stuart
Nope, I say that he's done pretty well on his own! |

As soon as Kucherov figures out how to bury the puck he's going to be a scoring machine. I can't wait. |

There are a lot of similarities between Henri Ikonen and Ondrej Palat.
Most people believe that Palat was an afterthought a throwaway pick, boy did Yzerman proved them wrong. The same goes for Ikonen, he's a very similar player to Palat. |
